The team was founded in 1926 and was named after the head of the Sauk Indians, Black Hawk, an important figure in Illinois history. The Chicago Sky are a professional women's basketball team of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). But each of these venues has also enjoyed sustained excellence over time by one or more of their hometown teams. In the 90s, the Chicago Bulls were the team to beat, but there weren't many teams that could muster the plays or the luck to overcome their talent, or maybe just the talent of basketball legend Michael Jordan. The team won its first hat-trick between 1990 and 1993, and a second hat-trick with a team consisting of Dennis Rodman, Scottie Pippen, Luc Longely and Ron Harper, led by Micheal Jordan.
Although the Bears franchise has only won one Super Bowl, the team that took that trophy home is still talked about and venerated. The team shares a strong history that dates back to its founding in 1870, when they were called the Chicago White Sox.
